A while back, it was mentioned that an 80 piece anniversary Potato Head was in the works. Now the Celebration Spud is being shipped. It includes the large Potato Head shaped container and 80 pieces, to commemorate Playskool’s 80th birthday. The hat is red and sports the Playskool logo.

As of this posting, I have seen one on ebay and one online.  Interstingly, if you compare the two pictures from these two sources, the shape of the children potato heads are clearing different in each photo. One has the older style rounder body, and one shows the taller “Spud Bud” shape. I don’t know yet which one is actually included.  There are also parts from the Safari Spud and the Space Alien Spud.

The Adventures of Mr Potato Head exhibit is officially on the road and touring. It’s an interactive learning adventure hosted by Mr. Potato Head. If anyone visits it soon, I’d love to see the photos posted here!

The exhibit features MR. POTATO HEAD becoming an astronaut, explorer, scientist, and undersea adventurer with a change of his “parts.” He leads the way on amazing adventures into outer space, on a jungle safari, on an archaeological dig, and under the sea.

Disneyland Resort kicks off it’s Summer Pin Trading event this week. The theme this year is Mickey’s Pin Odyssey, and will feature weekly pin releases. One of the ones I will be looking for is the Toy Story Mania pin featuring Mr. Potato Head!

There will be another Transformers Potato Head character to make it market soon. A Bumblebee Potato Head will be released in the UK only soon.

Also, this is a box that appeared on a blog recently. It stated that the Carnival Barker Potato Head came in it. I haven’t seen this yet, but it’s hopefully a new Disney version that ties into the opening of the Toy Story rides at the Disney parks.

Hi everyone. I am still here. I’m sorry I haven’t updated the blog in a while. I have been working on a big studio set building project all month and it has consumed my every waking hour, and most of my few sleeping hours too. The install date for the project is this weekend, so next week I’ll have time to get back to updating all the Potato Head news.

Hasbro has confirmed the release of the coming Celebration Potato Head. It is one of the special toys they will release this year as part of the companies 80th anniversary. The “Celebration Spud” will be released in the fall and will include 80 parts and pieces (80 years…get it?). Given their history of re-releasing the same old parts in different packages, and the fact that the latest info confirms that the party hat and birthday cake will be included, makes me wonder if the new set will include any new parts at all. Let’s hope they are saving some new surprises for us this fall.  Hey, at least we have Indy!
